I have recently revisited a lot of his early LP's, they are sublime.
The songs have a unique air about them, melancholy yet very humourous, he is definitely under-rated and is a very accomplished and skillful accoustic guitarist. I got into his early stuff about 14 years ago when I was 17,18... any other forumites partial to a bit of "Laughing Len"?

He's definitely an acquired taste, but some of his stuff is beautiful.

"I saw her wince, I saw her cry,
I saw the glory in her eye.
Myself, I long for love and light,
But must it come so cruel and so bright?"---Joan Of Arc.

I like some of his stuff. 'Suzzane' and 'Stories of the street' are my favourites. His crafting of songs is masterfull and lend themselves wonderfully to cover versions. Jeff Buckleys version of Halellugagh is epic. I've heard he's something of an artistic entrepeneur, being a successfull painter and sculpter also.
