OOOh!!! LOOK you left out the most important part of your the quote

and make it easy for them to stop receiving emails if they don't want them."

Intrusive behaviours like SPAM/Junkmail & Tele Marketing Calls all have quick outs if you can be bothered

Somehow I think the whining brigade aren't interested in the solutions because that would be one less thing to whinge about

cheers

Ehh! You've lost me there Deuce. Are you referring to the notorious "Click on this if you don't want any more"? The received wisdom is Don't do that, it confirms you are there.

But Tesco only send email to people who have shopped with them and freely given their address. If you ask them not to send t, they won't. Thet're not really some fly-by-night ordgnisation and they try to yarget their mail to people who may be interested ... not target in the sense of malice.

Exactly Mart - Spam is Spam no matter how you dress it up and any company or individual that is prepared to send out 20 million e-mails is a spamming twunt.

yes

ask tesco to stop and they stop.

Remeber you had to give them your address in the first place, so it isn't spam then as you signed up for itJacques wrote:

Companies like Tesco don't spend millions on collecting 'potential customer data' so that they won't contact you.

Wrong

Spam is an issue about CONSENT, not content

If you asked for it,it will come
