Abel Xavier banned for 18 months................harsh when you consider Rio missed a test and was banned for 8 months (it might have been 9). The moral is to miss the test for a reduced ban, ensuring you still can get drugged up to yer nads with anobolics and still not get it detected

Can anybody explain why some forms of drug assistance are allowed, and some aren't?
For instance we hear of players having cortizone and pain killing injections to alow them to play, effectively improving their performance, so why is that OK and nandralone (sp?) not?

Not quite as bad as the pathetic penalties in Major League Baseball.
If someone fails a test then you get a 10 game ban. Seeing as a season consists of 162 games then that tells you how pathetic the penalties are although they are currently trying to work out stiffer penalties.
Still that's better than a season or so a go when they didn't even test for them.
Might explain why Baseball got dropped from London 2012.
