Smokers v Hipreplacements

Now i no longer smoke after a lifetime of indulging i gave it up a few years back, but we hear all the time about the burden that smokers put on the NHS it just dosnt add up as about 70% of the price of cigs or baccy goes to the chancellor a lifetime smoker has paid thousand indirectly into the NHS, but if they are diagnosed with lung cancer the majority are told they have 6 months at the most and offered a few shots of morphine to help them on their way so how are smokers a burden, Now compare that with the non smoker who has not paid anything like that in taxes but has lived a longer life and because of that now needs a hip replacement costing untold thousands and because that hip is now mended and they now have a new lease of life within a year all 2 down the line the other hip needs replacing all paid for by the poor old smoker that has long since deceased. Sounds like Hip Hip Hooray to me.

You'd have though the money-grabbing tax-inclined shower of bungling incompetents we call 'Government' would attempt to generate yet more revenue by doing their utmost to keep ailing smokers alive........

.......but, as you say, it looks like a direct ticket to the big smoking room in the sky, white smoking jackets with gold trim and a lovely pipe made out of clouds, with an eclesiastical angelic duck called Simon joining you for a wee cigarillo.

Or something.

My point is fudgelaps that nothing this goverment does seems to square up, they are anti smoking but it brings them in lots of revenue, they are anti motorist saying that more people should use public transport well thats a joke, and now we need to have all these migrants being allowed to come into the country because they are needed to pay our pensions when they will breed like flys and their familys will be in need of welfare money putting an even bigger drain on the chancellor to raid the pension funds. Gordon Browns black hole is getting bigger, any suggestions on how he should fill it.

You have misunderstood my comments mart, no racist views were ever intended i was just pointing out that goverment figures do not add up and Gordon Brown has a big deficit in his spending plans this can only mean one thing that taxes will be going up for everyone.

Like i said mart you have misunderstood these remarks i was mereley pointing out that i fail to see how allowing more people into this country will help the pension crisis as this present goverment claims as these people will undoubtably raise familys and like a lot of familys will then need welfare assistance which i am not oppossed to but how can this help the pension crisis when it will just mean more cost to the welfare state, this was never meant as a racist slur and i must point out that i am not a racist and feel offended that you have mis read my comments as being racist views, it is you mart who has brought racist comments to this forum and you should think twice before you accuse anyone of making racist remarks and hopefully you will now do the noble thing and retract your previous comments.

OK then if you say so but you could have chosen more moderate terms, "breed like flys" is particularly repellant.
