Those who adorn houses with decorations...

Am I alone in my opinions, but does anybody else out there HATE the excessive manner in which some families or individuals choose to decorate the outsides of their homes at this time of year??
Ok. 'Tis the festive season and all that rubbish, but don't these idiots reaslise how utterly tacky/chav/naff/ council/scummy it makes the place look?
Being a snob, but they do tend to be more common on council estates, and the scummier the family, the sooner they go up.
I'm so happy that my hard earned taxes go on supporting the unemployed ( as surley they must be to afford the time and money) in funding such pathetic displays.
Baa Humbug

Next door but one to me even have them up the flag pole , yes you read correctly , they have a flag pole in their front garden . It maybe some sort of landmark for when they throw the occasional wild orgy . Did i mention they are a middleaged homosexual male couple , enough already . JJ .

Cheap Decorations I can handle
Repetitive X-mas carols playing 24/7 when you go shopping or to work is another matter
Spare a thought for the folks of this little adelaide hills town
No chance of an early night in with 250,000 visitors coming to town in that month
Thankfully its only 1 month out of 12
cheers

In the 80's there was a posh road round my way which had most of the houses lit up and attracted a lot of visitors. The bulk of the decorations must have cost them a bomb as they were custom made and looked good. Now, shops knock out tat starting at ?3.99 for a 5 foot Santa and everyone is jumping on the bandwaggon and turning the front of their houses into cut price Santa grotto's which look to me cheap & tawdry.

God yo ulot sound miserable! Lighten up! Who gives a shit about christmas decorations anyway? Christmas is for kids and a good time for adults to indulge heavily on alcohol....Personally I don't mind the lights and decorations, just aint arsed to do it my self but hey, if the next person wants to make the street all pretty with colourful lights then so be it...Christmas is fast losing its appeal now anyway. its called Xmas now buy most because it has no beraring on religious festivities...If anything I hate the hypocrisy surrounding Christmas but then hey....

Xmas doesn't seem like Xmas anymore - it's no more than a gross spending spree, an excuse to get rolling drunk and lots of cheap and tawdry decorations. I've not really bothered with it for years ... it's just another day when the shops are closed and old men walk to the pub with disgusting knitted jumpers on, obviously presents they're forced to wear at least once ... I mean, who wears knitted jumpers anyway these days? I think some of the houses look quite nice at night as you drive by. The only thing worse than Xmas is the mad people who rush out to the Boxing Day sales (they need shooting for their own good) - every shopping centre has hordes of moronic bargain hunters. The spirit has gone out of Xmas in the UK.

We've just moved to a posh area where there are NO Xmas shite on houses. Luckily the neighbours are 'nice' but if they were cunts, I'd invest in tacky shite to adourn our house, just to annoy them..Inflatable Santas, the lot. The tackier the better
