Chris Sutton, why, WHY, Whhyyy, *sob*!

The bhoy done superb at Celtic, and made a significant contribution to one of the best eras in Celtic history. Sure, he came to Scotland knowing that he will win silverware every season and have a high-percentage chance of playing Champions League football. Scottish football may be looked upon as laughable due to it's two-horsed nature- but it is not an easy style of football. Big name players have tried. And failed.

He had it good here, so......... why Birmingham?? You're better than that!

I understand the 'last dance in the Premiership' argument, and his own family reasons...but, you know what?

If that donkey Peter Crouch (?7m, lol!) can make the England XI, well, an in-form Sutton hopefully steering Birmingham away from relegation would make FIVE of him- and if he makes the side (a big IF), he would be a great foil for either Owen or Rooney. Hopefully, Eriksson will have an eye on him.

All the best Chris, you were a magnificent servant for us, I hope you do well. I just wished you signed for a better side!

Apologies to you Birmingham fans.

I'd imagine that Celtic were quite keane to have a highly-paid player like Chris off the payroll considering what they'll be shelling out in wages for a new arrival.

You can probably expect at least one other name to vanish fairly soon. My own guess is that they'll offload a few of the big salary earners---particularly if Goggs wants to strengthen his squad.

I suspect Sutton will have to play out of his skin to keep the Brummies from the drop.

Agreed, the wages issue is always a clincher in most Celtic transfer activity, in and out. The fact that Chris is now away gives some of the strikers more scope for starting- which should help in the development of Craig Beattie.

For the chop? Thompson- ?15K p/w, Agathe- ?10K p/w, possibly Balde, ?25K p/w (how does this lummox justify that?).

If good bids come in for Hartson, I fear he may be off if a replacement can be found...........but, sweet Jesus, tie up Petrov or another Jackie McNamara-complacent-he-will-definitely-sign-a-new-contract debacle will ensue.

And, too true, Sutton will have a power of work to do to save Brum- if he manages it that in itself should be justification for his place in Germany. Will it happen? Probably not.

As far as I can recall, Sutton was given one chance by England and didn't play well---and was ignored thereafter.

I think the guys you named will all be off soon. But they do need to tie Petrov to the club.

Anyway, when are you guys putting in a bid for Mark Wilson?

You know, I've not really been keeping up with the Wilson affair- I'm more concerned with acquiring the Lara Lee Mayfair issue than Celtic acquiring Mark Wilson! I've got the 'flu, so I've not been reading my Herald and reading the Daily Retard makes me worse.

How's that for apathy?

!grin!

Flu knocks all the enthusiasm out of folk. Just be grateful Lara is such a hotty that her image can beat the flu :-)

Truth to tell, there's not much happening up here on the transfer front at the moment.

The Daily Record---a publication that makes the Sun, Star etc look like newspapers.

No, he refused to play England B or U-21 friendly at WBA ground under Hoddle. who dropped him.

Oh man...that's so true.
The Daily Ranger is the worst paper I've ever seen. After they pulled Page 3 there was no reason to buy it anymore.

I, for one, am glad to see the back of Sutton. I have too many bad memories of getting beat by Celtic.
There are certain names that strike fear into the heart of Aberdeen fans......Hartson, Di Canio, Cadete, Larson, Sutton, Van Hooydonk.....

Then there are names that evoke laughter........Blinker, Juninho, Brattbak...

THE DAILY RECORD ACTUALLY RAN PAGE 3????

Did they shoot Scots lasses or did the skinflints import tasteful shots from Razzle? Or....

....Heaven forbid, did they do saggy-baps Joan Burnie in the upper-scud? Well, they couldn't really, they'd have to change the format of the paper to broadsheet to accomodate her knee-harassing bosoms.

Who would be their page 3 girlies now?

Lorraine 'boobies' Kelly;
Mags Heaney, replete with stookie on arm;
Paul Ferris in a gangster special;
Bob Shields;
KT Tunstall;
George Galloway (Respect!).

Seriously, though- did the Retard run a page 3?

Cannae believe it!

Aye Fudgey,

In the 80s.....around the same time Tennents Lager has babes on their tinnies.
I know cos my parents used to read the DR. Don't ask me why.
But I used to wait til they were finished with them and nick page 3. Then one day my dad went looking through the old copies before bin day and discovered all the page 3s were missing.
That's when I got the 'don't objectify women' lecture from my mum.
Fat lot of good that did me!
