Lexmark are closing!

Lexmark,printers,inks etc are closing with the loss of 700 jobs in Rosyth.News just in....
...and what with other firms like Nikon (no more film cameras),Konica/Minolta closing down.46% drop in film sales from Japan in November last..branches of Kodak going...the business is in turmoil.
Other major firms in the camera World are also thinking of packing it in.Watch this space in a fast changing environment.

Yes they are but only non-comsumer camera's.

They've only just put out the F6 so I doubt it but I've heard that they are ceasing to carry stock of spares from some old models

I'll agree with that for consumers but for pro's? Medium and Large format will be around for a long time to come.

Medium Format for the amatuers to. The reults frin my Yashica Mat 124 and the Fuji645 are excellent. On 35m My Contax blows the socks of a cannon 20d.
So for Porn it is digital Film for everything else

I think the lexmark printer cartridges were overpriced and exclusive to lexmark because they contained the actual printer heads. I think this is why their cartidges were sometimes double the price of the original printer.
Noticed recently that compatable cartidges were beginning to spring up for the lexmark range perhaps that is what prompted the job cuts.
