Simplest: Hook up a DVD recorder directly to your VHS machine. Press record on the recorder, play on the VHS machine. Voila.

You have to make sure that the in-line non-contact coefficient does not inhibit the process of conveying. Then the gangues can be recognized by using a threshold decoder and the accumulator pressure will be removed by the pneumatic actuator.
Simple really.
Try here, loads of how-to's and what software etc.
There may be a combined DVD/VHS recored that could do it but I'll have to throw that open to the forum.

If you take a walk around your local Comet or Curry's store you'll find quit a few combined DVD/VHS recorders. Don't know what they are like as I use a DVD/HDD hooked up to my video player to transfer the videos.
A word of warning though. If you decide to go for the DVD recorder connected to the video player, no matter how cheap you see them DO NOT buy a Philips DVD recorder. Worst thing I ever did was buy one of those pieces of ****.
