prescriptions, stamps, TV licence, Dental charges, Gas, Electricity. The Mind boggles. The British public are daft and allow them to keep over charging us, why stop with congestion charges lets have air tax.
I bought my sister and new fridge so I called Eric the local councel pick up truck and asked them if they would collect it for me. I was told it would cost 60 pounds. it was free untill last year so I refused and we took the fridge to a certified fridge disposal firm, the councel recently had a campaign to stop people dumping items such as Fridges and cookers in the alleyways but charging this sum of money then what do they expect. The they have to send a truck anyway to clear the alleways that are full of fridges and cookers so it costs them anyway to pick the stuff up.
Honest guys and girls are charged to get items removed because we care about our enviroment yet people just dump it out for free, only in this country. Companies see the British people as cash cows an we oblige them, then we complain about being over charged shoulden't we be used to it ?

?60 for a fridge is way ott. I do voluntary work for a firm that collects and supplies furniture to low-income familes etc and we collect fridges and charge ?10 to the customer and pay a little less than that to dispose of them, the local council charge ?15 for waste collections.
I haven't paid for any prescriptions in the last 20+ years. I can get anything I want on the NHS, including viagra should I need it.

I asked my local councillor about this a while back, he told me it was due to them having to hire more people at the disposal site due to EU regulations.
I wouldn`t mind but isn`t that what council tax is supposed to go towards? So what are the fucking local councils doing with the money?
