You could try this one! It has a Over18 section where you can sell and buy DVD's/Magazines etc!

You CAN trade porn on eBay.com IF you're registered with them as resident in the US.

But try trading on ebay.co.uk and chances are your auction will be cancelled and you'll get a "written warning".

And as far as I know, it's the same sorry situation on all the other national ebay sites, DESPITE the legality of porn in most of the countries in question.

Ostensibly it's to "protect children" (that old chestnut again!). As far as I'm concerned though, that's just a cop-out and it makes no commercial sense at all because (a) it would easily be possible to introduce some form of age verification method for allowing a person to trade in an adult section (if relatively minor players like filmundo.de and others can do it, why can't the mighty eBay?) and (b) they'd make an absolute mint if they had a dedicated "adult" section.

I suspect it's more likely they're simply too scared of the uproar from the vocal "moral minority" if they were suddenly seen to be condoning and encouraging porn.

Tried to sell Emmanuelle video on Ebay, had it pulled and got a warning! have seen the Paris Hilton, Jordan, Pam Anderson dvd's advertised there though. If you search through you can find porn usually "buy now" and if you get in quick you can get it before item pulled.

Ebay rules are very strange, the 1000's of sellers from Hong Kong & China are allowed to get away with things that a UK seller can't, eg fee avoidance, selling with low buying price and a massive postage cost.

That's because in the UK we are strangled by overbearing tax laws, and eBay are obliged to dance for their masters in order that they avoid any "difficulties". Also, as the British have this peculiar tabloid-led "morality" complex, porn is a no-no unless eBay want to upset the Moral Minority.
Did you know that the IR have a section that literally trawls through the eBay database logging all items sold and that they can investigate sellers with eBay's blessing... a friend of a friend was paid a visit because he had sold ?4000 worth of stuff.... in 3 and a half years! He was not operating a business and was simply flogging stuff he no longer wanted. You know how you can check eBayers feedback transactions going back 3 months? Well, the IR have the access to ALL transactions, no matter how old. Technology, it's a wonderful thing.....

Yes, eBay UK won't sell porn (including girlie mags...you're better of listing them on the German ebay site), and I've even had auctions for 18 certificate films (Japanese Anime stuff) cancelled and been given a warning, but when you try to enter into a discussion with them, you just get an automatically generated response.

However, they are willing to sell all manner of swords, knives, clubs, axes, throwing stars, nunchukas...you and your mates can get properly tooled up for under ?100!

QXL does allow adult stuff, but it is piracy city...I'm surprised that UK producers are so indolent and apathetic towards this threat. As much as I like to bend back Jerry B's ear about AITA, this is definitely an area they could do with examining. Then again, it might be something that requires another sort of body/organisation to look at it.

Producers, all you have to do is sign up with QXL (only takes a minute) then do a quick search on a few keywords related to your product. See how much money you are losing and wake up and do something about it!!!

I can think of one UK producer who, over the course of 4 QXL auctions, has been done out of about ?20-25,000 in retail sales. When people are punting out 5 titles a go and offering up 50 'lots' of 5 with each auction, it all begins to add up VERY quickly....
