Was listening to radio 5 earlier and it turns out that the guy was actually there for a job interview. He shared the first name as the 'expert' and followed when it was called out.

It makes sense - 'Thank you for coming for the interview ....'

Turns out he was not a cabbie after all but an applicant for an IT job...
