Chavez is our leader!

Post by strictlybroadband »

Don't know how many people saw Hugo Chavez interviewed on Channel 4 news last night as part of his UK visit? What a guy!

For the first time in maybe 25 years, there's a national leader in the Western world that doesn't roll over and play dead when the US threatens him. Now he's talking about pricing Venezuela's oil in Euros... it was that act by Saddam that made the US invade Iraq. Brave man, Chavez and he deserves a lot of respect.

He knows the US will overthrow or assassinate him if they get the chance... but we need leaders like him rather than our own poodle Blair to stand up against the might of the US empire.

Go Chavez!

Spot on!

Of course the other major oil producer to recently threaten to sell oil in Euros is Iran... and we all know that the US is gearing up for an invasion there too, using the potential atomic threat as its cover story.

If the muslim world wants to destroy the US, forget about suicide bombers, etc... just get OPEC to sell oil in Euros and the US economy, (which is overstretched as it is and just about survives thanks to oil being traded in dollars), will collapse as spectacularly as the Twin Towers did.

Actually, he was elected fair and square. Unlike Gadafy, who is suddenly America's and Europe's best friend...

That's exactly what he IS doing, which is why he's so popular at home. And which is why big business in America and Europe hates him so much. They believe that oil profits should go to billionnaires, not schools and hospitals.

Get yer facts straight.

Shades of Salvador Allende, perhaps?

When people talk of "9/11" I prefer to remember those inocent civilians brutally murdered on the streets of Santiago by the CIA backed troops of that mass-murdering friend of the west, General Pinochet.

The first "9/11" happened on 11th September 1973... something that America is too quick to forget.

How long before US backed troops are sent into Caracas to "restore order" I wonder?

Dont forget if the U.S. economy nosedives so will the UKs and the rest of the western world, the only trouble with the U.S. at the moment is Bush and the only trouble with the UK is Blair get rid of these two warmongering arseholes and maybe the world will be a better place for everyone.

Pretty much what I'd say. Get rid of Dick Dastardly (Bush) and his little grinning sidekick Muttley (Blair), and maybe things will cool down.

Is that a bad thing? In the economic growth debate I'm very much on the side that there are limits to how fast we should grow economically, and that a recession now and then is actually good for the economy in the long term.

The collapse of the US economy would be like a large tree being felled... all the sapplings around it would be able to grow better, rather than be stunted by the previous giant occupant.
