I'm hopefully gonna be buying a new MP3 player (my first one!) soon and I was wondering, anyone here know of any good UK music download sites?

Thanks for that! That's what I'm certainly after, a site that saves me having to buy ?10+ disks for just one or two tracks. Not only does it cost a lot of money that way, but those damned disks start piling up too. One thing though, do they do classical and movie soundtracks as well as the normal pop/rock?

Google kazaa gold for more info.I am very tempted to join myself but I'm not sure if it's safe.Further comments from anybody who have joined would be helpful.

Jes, reading that's like watching Mr Spock talk techno babble! To a MP3 newbie like me, tell me, what conclusion did they find?

Don't use Kazaa.

Bit out of date but none the less interesting reading:

So what about these ones?

http://www.mp3-freebie.com/OUK/

http://musicmp3.ru/

I'm tempted to join the top one, but both look good.

musicmp3.ru are probably the cheapest out there. Legal? Who knows, probably/possibly/no way - Russian copyright law has not caught up with them yet (probably unlikely that they ever will).

mp3 format only, you have to transfer $20 by credit card to use their service, probably better using e-gold with them

allofmp3 is probably a better service but more expensive and go for 192 kbps and again legal? *shrugs*

Stay away from mp3-freebie, rumoured to be a rip-off front.

pay 11 quid and buy yourself limewire pro. Not only does it have any song you want to download - free, there is also a ton of smut on there too. I have used it for years and never had any pc problems, kazaa well and truly naused my PC
