Materazzi called him a "fucking terrorist" apparently, which I think was a reference to Zizou's Algerian origins.

radio 5 tonight said they'd employed a lip reader and the rough translation they could get was
'a terrible death to you and your family'
apparantly a bad insult in Italy!
