Monica Ali is the new Zadie Smith, i.e. every publisher's dream: pc subject (arranged marriages) & young, media compatible author = hype, hype, kerching!

It's awful, by the way.

What are they unhappy about? Not read the book and don't really know anything about this, but as far as I understand it is about a woman sent to London for an arranged marriage. Why is it such a problem to the community?

If anything all the feminist and civil liberties groups ought to be up in arms about the 'slavery' of women? Or is that the problem, it criticizes arranged marriage?
