Hezbollah

Interesting article here, by Iranian commentator, Amir Taheri, which suggests that Iran is waging a proxy war, though Hezbollah, against Israel. The articles outlines how Hezbollah, in Lebanon, has established a state within a state, with it?s own army (the third most powerful in the middle east), banks, insurance companies, hotels etc. Taheri further suggests that Iran and Hezbollah?s ultimate goal is the elimination of the state of Israel- which would then leave the way open for Iran to take it?s place as the dominant regional power and revisit the glory days of the old Persian empire.
To give you some idea of why this might not be such a good idea for anyone who has the misfortune to come under Iran?s sphere of influence, the BBC are helpfully putting on a documentary tonight, highlighting the cruelty and barbarity of the Iranian Mullah?s ? apparently they publicly hanged a 16 year old girl ?for crimes against chastity?, hoisting her up on a crane?s jib in the town?s square. Nice. What wonderfully enlightened caring, sharing, people they are. I?m sure everyone in the middle east are hoping against hope that Iran and Hezbollah can dispose of the odiously democratic state of Israel and get back to some good old fashioned Iranian/Islamic, values.
