Been lurking for sometime. Just wanted to ask has anyone here had the courage to go into a porno cinema anywhere, and if so what's the deal? Just rows and rows of men wanking?! Or is everyone too British. I've never had the chance to visit one but it seems like we should if they show UK girl films. Anyone been isnide one? Where are they outside of London?

Totally outdated, now. What's the point when you have it all in video/DVD? There used to be a truly dreadful one in Brighton, which I visited a few times many years ago, called rather imaginatively 'The Continentale', which had, incredibly, gas lighting in the auditorium. Now before jj chips in with a suitable age-related little aside, I would like to point out that this was only 20 or so years ago, believe it or not. The films were predictably poor, even dubbed!! sometimes. It closed down eventually, as I expect the building was condemned. How the happy memories don't come flooding back!

Richy, I went to that one when I was about 19, it was way up the top of Kemp town. I always thought it was cool we used to take the girls in when we were filming here for a laugh. It really pissed the gays of as they were all doing some down hill sking.
The only cinema I can recomend is the Willow Club, 87 Great Eastern Street, London. it is open from 10am until 9.00pm costs ?8 and they are showing two films in seperate rooms.

Interesting this:A friend of mine had a 'life membership'to the JOHN LINDSEY cinema in London's West End...
His first trip ended with him 'having his collar felt'when a police raid took place...(these raids were anticipated so spare 16mm reels were alway's waiting in a car around the corner)..unfortunately on this occasion the cinema was closed down for good...end of life membership,one torn card ending up in gutter!.
Was'nt RONDO HATTON the character playing the 'Creeper' in the Sherlock Holmes movie THE PEARL OF DEATH??

I'm not THAT old.........20-odd years ago I was a permanently horny, porn-deprived teenager creeping around the fleshpots of London looking for the 'Real Thing'......
.....there were LOADS of cinemas in W1 allegedly showing h/c, but of course, I had NO chance of getting in.
There was a TINY cinema on the South side of Trafalgar Sq. that used to show such "legal" things as 'I am Curious....Yellow', and were fairly relaxed about spotty teenagers such as myself masquerading as 45-year-old stockbrokers.

Not a porn cinema - but I saw an uncut showing of CAFE FLESH at The Scala cinema in Kings Cross before it closed. I was only 21 at the time and most of the audience where the biggest bunch of raincoats (in the stereotyped -have a wash tradition) I have ever come across. What made it worse is half way through the movie the projector broke down, and we turned around to see a number of guys in the back row were obviously having a good time... Something I don't really wan't to experience again!

EEeeeeeeuuuurrrrgggghhhhh.....
......those were the days.
One can get pills for nostalgia on the NHS now, apparently.

So thats why raincoats aren't selling so well downunder anymore!!

Not to mention the sales of twisties(the use od twisities packets)!!!Figure that one out sherlock JJ!!

I have no idea what 'twisties' are: i'd guess some kind of 'Krispy Snak'.....
