Heard a programme on R4 recently regarding the terror in the Soviet Union under Stalin. One contributor suggested that perhaps we should be more concerned about the 'Tartan Terror' likely to befall the UK if Gordon Brown becomes PM. He has a point.

Hopefully, John Reid will pip him to the post. Reid's a bullshitting lying bastard ? but, even so, I like the cut of his jib. He seems like hard man who has little time for middleclass hand-wringing and poncyness.
