Amazing one hit wonder with My Sharona which STILL sounds great today nearly 30 years on!!
In the anal rape scene in Pulp Fiction, Tarantino wanted My Sharona as the background music as it had a 'GREAT Ass Fucking beat to it'
The Knack refused permission for it to be used in this scene

I just read an interview with him about the punk scene in Los Angeles in the late 70s early 80s last month. I heard he also played drums with the late great George Harrison. When I think about the way he played and his sound I assume it was the mid/late 80s hit "Set On You".

Reminds me of the Bad Lieutenant story where director Abel 'Driller Killer' Ferrara shot a scene where a nun is gang raped to the strains of Kashmir by the Zep.

Though sadly, no-one asked the Zep first...one lawsuit later and either the scene- a key one - or the whole film had to be withdrawn.

Hmmm! I wonder if they showed it in the states yet? You know my song though was "Frustrated"!

This topic reminds me of something I heard last year, it was on a Radio Station, Re: Music Banned from being used in Adverts/Movies/etc...

Most noticibly, I heard that an Advertising company wanted to use a track by Johnny Cash, but they were denied/banned from doing so.

Johnny Cash's song, Ring of Fire (Banned from being used to promote Heamorhoid Creams).

Ring of Fire is a well known one, as is the Police's 'Don't Stand So Close To Me' that some BO aerosol company wanted to use as its jingle
