Will be interesting to see who the cast is
Also goes to show how safe the studios of today really are
Theres got to be some decent original writing/stories/concepts out there somewhere,

The Sweeney was great and i would like to see an upto date remake, but they would have to get the casting and storylines about right because people would be comparing it with the original 70s version!wink!

At first me I screamed: SACRILEGE!!!!! But then I read Nick Love and yeah man...Cant wait to hear those immortal lines on the screen: @Sweeney! Your nicked!!!"
Just by coincidence I'm watxhing al the old Sweeneys at the moment from Screen Select and I see the same potential for a good modern version and i think Nick Love is the man to do it.
We've got a great pool of Brit actors to make this seriously worth while and I think the cineam could do with a gritty and moody movie too.
I liked Miami Vice but the whole cool undercover cops in fast sports guys looking like they would have fared better posing for Play Girl just makes me think pure Hollywood commercialism.
I wanna see dirty great grey clouds in London, blacks cussing like I know they do and Regan and Carter eating fish and chips out of newspaper!!!!!...In Hackney!!!!

Anyone remember that TV advert, for the Nissen Almeria I think, from a few years back?
It was a take off of the Sweeney.
"Regan" and "Carter" were driving the car through market stalls and shouting at each other.
They were on their way to a "Bank Job" that was going off.
When they got there the "villains" were really decorating the place and the guy playing "Regan" was shouting about the colour of the paint. It went something like "I said Apple White, this is Blossom White" as he held up the tin.
I thought it was funny; hope the remake is as faithful to the series as the advert was.
