Must agree.Its called phishing or similar.People trying to get passwords,bank account details by posing as genuine sites.Its a huge thing but the banks take it on the chin and dont care too much.They make billions profits remember.However I dont think I've heard of anyone being prosecuted.Seems the police are years behind.I would love to be able to disrupt them somehow ( the scammers) but I dont know how.

Depending on who it is more often than not getting your money back by the legal process is a waste of time, either bite the bullet or go for the straightener on the cobbles. This is the quickest resolution and if you dont get your money back, hey...you vented your frustation and made your point....But I didnt say that right? ...Oops! DOH!!!!!

It's amazing though how many people would fall for it when you can spot the scam a mile off.

I did see a website quite some time ago, can't remember what it was called now, where they go out to scam the scammers. Apparently, they had some success with it too!!!

Are you thinking of 419eaters.com? They have some good sport with the Nigerian scam merchants.

There was a recent case here in NZ of a women who scammed a lot of her relations and friends then fell for the Nigerian scam and lost the lot.
