some mothers in yorkshire are going to the chippy for their kids at dinnertime because their school has introduced healthy menu's instead of the usual garbage offered up ,the gates are closed all day so the kids cannot leave .the women are taking orders at the school fences so that they can feed them shite like crisps and chips beacause its what THEY WANT and they must have it ,i suppose they want bloaters.kids should be made to eat healther food and tought about diets as early as possible

Tommy you can't force people to eat different food than what they are used to and which they like. You can offer them the choice. Schools should provide a nutricious meal for every child each day. Whether they eat it or not is up to them.
Eating together is a practice that is educative per se. Every child should sit down to eat together at least once a day. No packed lunches or leaving the school boundaries during the midday meal.
Some families no longer have a dining table. They eat from trays in front of the television. Respect, manners and conversation begin at the dining table and it should be the right of every child to partake of this practice.

the point is that kids should be told early about the content of food, which is good and which is bad as part of their education.we spend billions on the nhs treating people who are just unhealthy when a little bit of knowlege can help.the trouble is if parents are unwilling to say no to their kids on most things these days

Whilst the preceding comments have made a quite compelling case for educating children on the benefits of good nutrition, they have also fairly hammered home the problem of illiteracy.

I`d say more for schools if they offered decent meals. When I was there the meals were shit and thats if you were lucky enough to get anything. Fucking teachers got in there first and everything had gone. Then when my sister started secondary it was paying through the nose for an apple and packet of crisps. Wheres the fucking money going?
Anyway with healthy food you force it down kids necks and they`re not going to eat it. Fuck you tell kids not to smoke , drink or do drugs and whats the first thing they`ll do as soon as they have the chance.
