It is all rather pathetic.

People are asked to boycott Disney because of things like this:

Hyperion Press, a Disney-owned subsidiary, has published "Lettin' It All Hang Out," the autobiography of RuPaul, a well known "drag queen" (transvestite) entertainer.

Based on this criteria you would hardly listen to any pop music (drugs, sex, and lifestyle of group members),

or read various famous authors (drink, drugs, sex etc by authors)

or watch much TV, or look at any art

Much great art of all forms is produced by people who had a "weakness" of one sort or another, be it drink, sex, drugs, and so on.

It is is a well known fact that Disney himself was not the nicest person ever to walk the planet.

I find that a very sad list and a very sad site.

Along the same nutter lines, there's a company in the US that has been re-issuing mainstream movies with all the stuff they consider not suitable for anyone older than 10 taken out. The studios have taken out an injunction stopping them PDQ. Sanity returns.

I agree with Guilbert. Why stop there? John Wayne and Elvis were racists, but I know plenty of blacks who love Elvis music....Michael Jackson is purported to be a kiddy fiddler but I dont think about that when I hear his songs back in the day (pre Dangerous) Who cares for their politics? let the talent do the talking.

Most talent are introspective, arrogant and selfish arse holes you wouldnt want to know in real life and it aint such a bad thing for it.

Now excuse me while I watch Sleeping Beauty

I just read a bit on that site and made up my mind whn I saw the christian bit in the title before it prattled on about shit that kids will never pick up on and further more nor would I.

The God botherers should really chill out. They wont make any friends with this trivial bullshit and one of the reasons for this double standards that I turned to the dark side...Its alot more fun here. Pussy, beer and Playstation, loud hip-hop and other excesses RULE!

OEJ You are right about the double standards, which at least means that for each piece like the one that mart quotes, there is usually one like this example of keeping the christian end up, or as they put it another 'fundie's fall from grace'

I could never diss Elton. He has written and performed some of my favourite songs ever like Rocket Man and Dont Go Breaking My Heart. saturday Nights Alright For Fighting and many more. No matter what he ever does, he will be remembered for those songs earlier in his career.

I felt Steve Wonder was getting a bit too commercialised in the late 80's when he did The Woman in Red soundtrack but his recent release A Time To Love is a masterpiece in my mind and breath of fresh air to the bravado and swagger with youthful exhuberances in pop and r&b (yeah, us oldies will appreciate this I think) He still has the touch.
