Havent seen the recent one but the old one with Dolph Lundgren was....pretty bad but then that was a bygone era when they treated heroes who wore spandex suits as being rather a bit silly. What killed it for that movie was the 18 certificate.

I remeber I saw it in a Cannon cinema in Tottenham Court Road knowing itwas an 18 certificate and thinking...But why????

No, it's total crap, and dare I say it's actually worse than the Dolph Lundgren version.

Best bit has to be after the baddies have just wiped out the entire Castle family (including, they believe Frank Castle as well). Rather than keeping the fact he survived nice and quiet and affording himself the element of surprise, he pulls up outside a press conference and announces his presence to the media.

Priceless.

Excellent movie. Miles better than the Dolph one, if it hadn`t been they wouldn`t be doing a sequel. Only Dodgy bit was Big shitty Kevin Nash as the Russian, an almost unstoppable assasin. Everyone knows you only need to fart next to big shitty and every bone in his body shatters. Only man to tear his quad throwing a punch after being back in a wrestling ring less than three minutes

I was hugely disappointed with this film, I really wanted to like it as I loved the comics as a kid, but this film really sucks, not quite as bad as the Lundgren version but considering that was made in 1989 thats not much of a compliment. Though Thomas Jane was definitely the right choice for the role.

There's lots of unintentionally funny bits in there, like the extremely camp looking Kevin Nash though.

I also think the film needed to be a lot darker and less humourous. I'm just praying Ghost Rider isn't going to get cheesed up like this was.

PS Just because The Punisher sold enough tickets to warrant a sequal doesn't mean its good, it just means it made enough money from the fans(like me) to do it.

Hey Mike, check out the trailer on another thread here recently.
I have a good feeling its gonna be ok as Nic cage is Ghost Rider and he himself was a big comic book fan and it definitely looks dark...Remains to be seen what the end result will be though
