Lightening fucks your motherboard

Yep,left it on during the storms yesterday.Motherboard fried so had to buy a new base unit.Be warned friends!!
I had the same problem last year. An MSI motherboard gave up the ghost after thunderstorms last summer & I had to purchase another. (yes I have a surge protector). Luckily the ram, cpu gpu etc were unaffected.
