One of the most gifted footballers of his generation, but seems to be hell-bent on self destruction, which is a real tragedy as I think that lurking behind his demons is a really pleasant, sensitive fella.
I read his autobiography on holiday last year, and some of his story was truly heartbreaking.
I really hope he gets his shit together - and soon.

Decent person who 'took in' a gold digging wife and dodgy hangers-on who fleeced him.
Top bloke

When you have an absolute bell-end like Chris Evans as a friend, you'd want to go into a sinking depression too.

Just saying.

I thought their relationship was at an end, after Gazza's reflected glory ceased to make the papers, and the Ginger tosser fucked off with his child bride.....

I agree that Chris Evans is a bel-end and an irritating one at that but at the end of the day people (including Gazza) can choose their friends.

As for Gazza himself he was his own downfall. Most of the injuries he suffered, he bought on himself by reckless challenges or thinking he could one over on the guy he was tring to take out.

I disagree.
Gazza badly injured himself on one occasion, making a reckless challenge on Forest's Gary Charles.
His other injuries were purely down to bad luck on his part, as far as I can ascertain.

What about when he busted his arm on George Boateng's head. That was tring to take him out and was just sheer reckless. Injuries in Italy were caused by his clumsy challenges. I won't argue that he was a good footballer but that's all he was...

He was never the same after the Gary Charles tackle. Never had the same drive to get past people. The other incidents demonstrated will to win and maybe a bit of frustration that his body couldn't do the things it could earlier in his career.

That FA Cup run showed what a player he was in that he was the difference between Spurs getting to the final or not. When have other so-called superstars made that much of an impact on their clubs over a whole season not just one game?

Also a bit unlucky with decisions on the field, when playing for Rangers and the ref dropped his yellow card and Gazza showed it to him and then got booked for it. A talking to would have done in that instance.
