Can you tell me if CCleaner is safe to use on a laptop running Windows XP sp2?
It say's on it's home page to ignore a virus warning.-
"False virus warning
The latest download is being incorrectly detected by AVG as containing a virus. This is a false detection and we're working with Grisoft to resolve the issue. Thank you. "
If it is safe any tips on using it....
Thanks

Well it's one I use and have been for a while and have never had a problem at all, ever.
As far as I am concerned it's perfectly fine, I've just downloaded the latest version and run the exe file through Panda Titanium Anti-virus and nothing. Double clicked to install and all it did was update the older version.
Nowt to worry about.

Windows service pack 2 is the problem not CC, it doesn,t like anything being installed, and if it,s not a genuine microsoft certificated product, it likes it even less. CC is a good programme .

Thanks Lizard
I'm going to try it on windows ME os first.
Very re-assuring that everyone is positive about CC.
I always wonder what's in it for companies providing these free software tools. Very kind of them.....
