According to a legal interpretation by Vernon Coaker (he of the "Dangerous Pictures Act" and the one caught lying to the public about it on live radio) gave to Parliament last week. Coaker was commenting on the legal consequences of the judgment in the Court of Appeal in R v Perrin [2002].

Coaker declared all R18 or equivalent material would be illegal to publish on the Internet unless ?behind a suitable payment barrier or other accepted means of age verification?. This includes both commercial pornography and ?non-commercial, user-generated material?.

Any site that provide a sample of their wares to prospective customers - i.e. all of them - will now be considered to be breaking British law if they are deemed to operate within the UK jurisdiction (even if your server or hosting is in another country).

So there you go folks, if you want to look at UK porn you will have to get your credit card out and pay first before seeing anything except softcore/boobcore and you're all happy to do that now arne't you?

But hold on, if he is correct and i doubt it then wouldnt this apply to any film clips whatever the classification, it would mean that you would have to do an age check even if the film is classified 18, 15 or 12 or whatever, if he is correct you would be breaking the law if your clips were viewed by people below thse ages, you just cannot state it applies just for R18s

Well technically he is right. This goes for computer games too. Well here in the UK it is anyway...unless it has an exemption certificate meaningit is suitable for anyone.

There are exemptions to computer games, not all have to be rated by the BBFC and the PEGI system is entirely voluntary. Rule of Rose for example.

He said Ithat it is only illegal if it is on the "first page" or not behind some age verification barrier. But I must admit that you guys will be in for a hard time when, and not if, the bill goes through. I won't be in the UK and that is why!

What is the point of making free porn illegal in the UK when the internet is worldwide as other countries wont make it unlawfull so there will still be plenty of free clips for people to view, or do the stupid cunts we have in goverment think they can control the internet.
