Guess its all down to if you like it or not. For me, its one of the Xmas televisual highlights. Of course i'm biased, Dennis Priestley is a mate of mine, and I once played in the World Masters, but I've been to many finals and the atmosphere is brilliant. One year at the bar, a bloke ordered 81 pints of beer, when the barmaid questioned him, her replied, "there are nine of us!"
Myself, I can't understand the attraction of cricket, (10 secs of action, mins of blokes walking round a field) and Golf (4 hours of live coverage of clouds)

Its not the same without Sid Wardell commentating.
I loved darts 'back-in-the-day' with larger than life characters like Bristow and Jockey Wilson. Granted, Phil Taylor would beat any of the names from yesteryear, but back then, it was good TV sport.
I'm VERY suprised there are no Chinese 'names' coming through as they are fucking mad for darts like snooker, and theres a few good players in the snooker ranks

Thats the other thing i can't understand why people go and watch it live,
unless it's just for the atmosphere because you surely can't see where the darts have landed or is it shown on a big screen?

Yep, huge screens either side. But its the atmosphere you go for. And what other sporting event would you hear the MC saying, "Ladies and gentlemen, as the players make their way to the stage, please don't slap them on the head"
