I think charity shops USED to have bargains, but these days, it seems everyone is clued up and trawl them for hidden treasures.
The little old ladies that run them? Hard as nails and as ruthless as a shark, they 'bag' the good stuff when it comes in and send the dross to the shelves where it stays for months and months.
I saw some rare punk vinyl singles at Oxfam a few years ago, and thought, '10p each......nice one!'........until I saw each one individually priced at upwards of a fiver. They know their stuff alright!

I bought a brand new DVD, less than a month old with an RRP of ?25, for ?3.50 from one yesterday, so bargains can still be had.

I used to buy books in them and sell those on eBay, but the big chains like Oxfam have got pretty wise to that now, unless you spot something you have a specialised knowledge of, like old sci-fi and cult tv.
