Your post to which I objected makes no reference whatsoever to the execution of Saddam Hussein (except by implication) or your views on him.
It seems that its not just us readers who find many of your posts incomprehensible.

You know some if not most of us would like to see some kind of "seen" punishment like they did in the Old Testament but this is modern times and times change. I just don't know if I would want to be as brutal as that though.

I think public executions would leave more people mentally scarred. Especially those who are faint of heart.
The day they allow public executions they better allow hard core porn on terrestrial tv before the watershed because I think most people can handle a girl(or guy if that is your thing) getting fucked up the arse than a bloke getting hanged or beheaded for all to see.
I bet if they did it would be a pay per view event too. Nothing is free these days it seems and why not make a bit of money out of the blood hungry hordes of baying spectators. Front row seats anyone?....Better wear your mac, you may get splashed with piss or blood depending on the type of execution.

Public executions are barbaric, and says more about the authorities than the crimes committed. I think it's creepy in the USA when hoards of people are caped outside prisons waiting for someone to be executed. Even though they cannot see the execution they're hanging around having a street party. Fucking weirdos....
At least with a prison sentence you can be set free if new evidence proves your innocence......

Yep, these countries that won't let their women show a bit of leg happily open football stadiums to let in families watch -supposed- criminals being hanged off the crossbar, or shot through the skull.
Jeeeesus!

But the idea of the state / society being seen to do justice/administer the law is something that you just dont see in society at the moment which is a problem as there no apparent consequences for the victim or perperator.

Until 1868 executions in the UK were always carried out in public. This did not stop crime, however...
