Horrible dogs, I was glad when American Pit Bull Terriers wre banned.

But don't they tend to be owned by chavvy scummy bling wearing idiots, who call them Tyson etc. and who live on council estates.
They like them as a status symbol of their 'hardness', and want them to be viscious and uncontrollable by anybody other than the owner.
And wonder why they attack their kids.

Terrible terrible shame that each year numeral kids get maulled by the famiy pet.

Read all the BBC article....look at the complete lack of thought from what appears to be various members of the family.

These fuckers should be banned full stop. I saw 2 pitbulls fighting one another last saturday, it was just outside my house. And yes both were of the lead, there owners were 16 year old kids, walking the street with them, i think it tries to make them look hard. So in the process you see any little boy or girl who is running about near them gets mauled. How many more lives will be lost. Enough is Enough Folks.

I totally agree with what you say. Whenever these incidents occur the circumstances always seem similar. Similar breed of dog and similar type of owner. So called experts always claim that all dogs are capable of such behaviour, but how often does a well cared for labrador attack a child?

They're in the process of banning the bloody things down here too by outlawing any breeding or importation but I think illegal breeding will go on for years. Demand = supply.

As seems to be the case in the UK, the typical Aussie owner is usually a guy in his 20's to early 30's and drives a 6 litre car aggressively, shaves his head, has a 'drug-dealer' beard, plays gansta rap very loud, has a permanent sneer and his conversation is always something like:- " Yeah, so I gave this fucker a chop to his neck, broke his arm, slit his fuckin' nose off and told him to find his own parking space. No one fucks with me. " etc etc.

We're all so impressed by them.
