Yep. Okay one could argue that Liverpool had a second string team out. But then again so did Arsenal. Kolo Toure was the only name I recognised. At least Liverpool still had Gerrard, Fowler, Bellamy and Garica out.

this has confirmed what i have believed for a while, modern defenders need pace and lots of it, the way the game is played these days recovery pace is essential with the speed and movement of the modern forward, the best european teams have quick defenders.

Just a pity they haven't got enough British players to fill a phone box. I don't think they are over rated, I don't rate their chances of winning the Premiership this year at all.

Just watched it on TV, Arsenals youngsters played really well.
Must say though the Kop was brilliant how many other teams fans would still sing and get behind their team while losing 6-3 like they did tonight.

Alright, Marino, la', your lot deserved yet another win at our place.
The defence was appalling yet again and I doubt Dudek has conceded as many goals in two games since days in his Polish school's playground.
Benitez will NEVER pick that same starting XI again - not least the back five - and it looks like we've picked up long term injuries to Mark Gonzalez and Luis Garcia. Those two blows will be of more long term significance since we're still chasing a top four place and a spot in the last eight of the Champions (sic) League, albeit against the competition's current holders, Barcelona.
This 3-6 scoreline will be a watershed result in Liverpool's season AND history, equivalent to our infamous losses against Worcester City in 1959 and Watford in 1970.
Our campaign could now fall to pieces or the team will pick themselves up and return with a bang - first by thumping crappy Watford on Saturday lunchtime.
It's now up to Rafa to rally the team from the bench and Gerrard to lead it on the field. That's why they're paid the obscene money they are.
Our club's anthem has some very famous lines. And at the moment all Liverpool fans are walking through that proverbial storm.
But as you all know, at the end of that tempest, is a golden sky...
Walk On With Hope In Your Heart...

To be honest, with Liverpool's performance - Arsenal didn't even need to play that well tonight. Arsenal just strode through easily.

That wasn't the point I made in the other posts Marino and you know that.

All tonight and last Saturday proved was that Arsenals fist team is better than Liverpool's first team and Arsenals reserves are better than Liverpool's reserves. Facts that most people knew already.

My point about Arsenal being over rated was because the vast majority of Arsenal fans and nearly all the media (wirtten, audio and visual which just happens to be based in London) go on on about what great football Arsenal play and how they are as good as Chelsea and Man Utd when clearly the facts say they are not.

Was it 26 points behind Chelsea last year? 16 or 17 behind Man Utd? Miles behind both again this year?

Arsenal have had two great results in their last two games but they are still not in the class of Man U and Chelsea and I wish Arsenal fans and the media would wake up to that fact.

I agree. It comes to something when Dudek was probably at fault for all Arsenal's first 3 goals and he wasn't the worst Liverpool player on the pitch.

Where did liverpool get the Pauleta (or whatever his name is) from? I suggest they send him back there. Pronto.

That said Arsenal did capitalise on Liverpool's ineptitude very well.

Benny please don't take me seriously on this. I am having a laugh it is only football. But for Arsenal this season to win like that, well let me indulge myself for a few short moments.

I was listening to the match on the radio and it sounded like Arsenal versus Stephen Gerrard ( Hands up who wouldn't want that man playing for their club). He for me is the best British player in the premiership

I am the first to give to Arsenal when they play like tossers. To be honest I think they will be lucky to stay top four this season. What with the squad I don't believe is strong enough yet, and the move to the emirates it's a lot to ask of any team. to win everything as well.

But I do believe we are as good as any team in Europe on our day, but we just not consistent enough.
I think Man U are playing fabulous football, And watching Chelsea with John Terry out I feel are a different side without there skipper.

Keep up the banter. And remember Once a Gooner always a Gooner, but they will let anyone support Chelsea.
