From the 2nd April people living in Wales with be entitled to free NHS prescriptions.............this was voted on by the Welsh assembly ( To help labour MP's in the local elections in May !)

Guess who'se picking up the bill !!! Yes as usual the English Tax Payer ! And it is also on the cards that the prescription charges will rise in England this year !!!!

They are keeping this issue low key until after the self assessment tax day (31st Jan)

One sided independence is what I'd call it. And that's why I've become an English nationalist.

Maybe you need to look at history.

I hope you can say, hand on heart, that you have never not-declared any income for tax puposes or paid a bill in cash to avoid VAT. Cos if you have, then somebody else has to make up the shortfall in revenue.

Here in the US, if our tax dollars are going for something positive, and I mean POSITIVE, then I wouldn't mind paying it and in this case, medical prescriptions. The only thing I don't like is when polititions do things to save their behinds before elections come. But think about it! Don't you think you might need those free medical services in the future? I know I will in the present and the future.

The point is the free prescriptions will only be for those in Wales, not England.

I'm shocked that anyone could beleave nulabour agreed to devolved assemblies as a way of gerrymandering, or thousands of civil service non jobs in their metropolitan strongholds.And it's probably just a coincidence that NHS cuts and A & E closures are overwhelmingly happening in Conservative wards.


I guess the National Health Service has now officially been destroyed with the differences in prescription charges and drug availability and infrastructure spending throughout this disunited kingdom.

A rotten administration and a useless opposition and an apathetic electorate.

CJJ, Its the same as say California having free medicine ( I know it would never happen) and Nevada not. Since devolution, Scotland and Wales can deal with a lot of their own affairs themselves. It sometimes throws up cases like this. Scottish students are financed differentlt to England. Oh did I say students? Wait for it.

Please, do give me a lesson. But what I do know is that we have MPs from an, er, "independent" Scotland in MY parliament making rules for us English when they should be up in the English funded Scottish parliament.
