Watching some of the news on the arrests today and some of the points some of the comunity leaders were making....well to be honest were fucking mind blowing!!

1) Over 1000 people have been arrested in anti terror raids in this country,but only 39 have ever been charged.

So fucking what?? I dont care if they arrest me!! Its a simple fact that if you throw enough shit at a wall some of it is going to stick. If it takes 1000 arrests to take 39 potential suicide bombers off the streets,then so be it. I think im quite happy paying my taxes for that particular service thankyou!!

2) Only a small percentage of the 39 people charged are muslims

OK OK fair play,cant argue with fact. But I think im right in saying a fucking large percentage of the July the 7th bombers were Muslims. I think im correct in saying that it is a group of muslims on trial right now for trying to do the same. Right lets put it this way. Your a policeman and you get reports of a 6' 2" ginger bloke with big ears,nicking cars. Who are you going to start questioning? Short Chinese people. Are you fuck!! A small number of exstremists have put the entire UK Muslim community under suspision. Sorry tough shit I have no problem with that. Fuck 'em!!

The scariest thing is that so many that go from being a
Muslim to an Islamic Extremist
are in the main,very well educated people

To me that says the hope of preventing terrorism is nigh on impossible

Then again we have our own Christian extremists who believe Israel must be protected at whatever cost

BB, look again at what you typed in, and replace Muslims with Irish Catholics. We mainland Brits spent decades hitting out at the republican side in Northern Ireland, almost calling all of them terrorists. Now, if 1000 Irish fellas were arrested, and only about 4% of them charged, there'd be riots on the streets, and claims that Irish Catholics were being victimised.

That the British Muslim community contains some radical nutters is not in dispute. Demonising the entire community is almost the same as drumming up support for the extremists. A number of BMs need to do more to fit in here. We can do our bit by not ripping veils from women, or calling the men "Osama."

Two things worth mentioning in passing.

Firstly, these thwarted terror campaigns with associated arrests tend to happen very quickly after the Government gets some really serious press. (Bliar questioned; Lord Levy rearrested----next day, dawn raids and arrests). It might be a coincidence, but I'm not willing to trust any government willing to give away my liberties in the name of fighting terror just to get the right-wing press off its back, when it knows full well the restrictions imposed would have no affect on the nutters.
