Well here I am on my organic farm. I have gone back to the land. I have 5000 sq metres. Yesterday I dug the land using a plough, today a bit of hoeing. putting in the chicken run, have to wire the roof in because of EEC rules but it is still free range organic.
Tomorrow I have to prune the vines: onedoes this in February each year. The nights are cold but it often gets quite warm in the day and it is a late breakfast out on the veranda. We eat oranges from the gardeen and the marmelade I made from some the other day. Now I am off to pick some vegetables for dinner. They seem to growing all year round here.

I am going to instally solar panels for lighting. I also have two wells and another house on this land.
If anyone knows about self sufficiency please teach me.
Mike Freeman.

"If anyone knows about self sufficiency please teach me."

Enough invested to take 5% as income, tax free and live off it. The fuckers can't touch you.

Rude Boy,
I have enough vegetables here to feed an army and everything is still growing! The sunshine is warm and I am sitting on the veranda typing this. birdsong fills the air and no traffic noise!
The fruit trees are starting to flower and i am getting chickens soon. I can survice off the land and I will install solar panels soon. I have two wells for water.
Mike.

Hi CJ,
Nice to here from you in the land of the free. I am learning a lot and living off the land.I can't see myself needing to buy vegetables or fruit ever again and fish is cheap. Wine will be free after the harvest. I stoked up the big outdoor pizza oven( I am in Puglia) and Linda cooked some big pizzas. They were crispy and delicious washed down with the local red wine at 2 Euros a litre. later she cooked some bread.

The kids love the freedom to run about the land and play at any time.
Mike.

Back In The Day, I would've recommended 'Mother Earth News', a magazine, but it has become commercialized. There was an excellent series of books called 'Foxfire' published between 1972 & 2004 about self-sufficiency in th Appalachians, w/ a lot of 'how to' instruction. It sorta grew out of the hippie 'back-to-the-country' movement.See the wikipedia article on this series; if you are interested, check out eBay/Amazon & that lot.
