Yeah a bloody fine actor definately from the old school. Was he or wasn't he a shirtlifter in his private life??

A superb actor. Played sinister creepy roles better than anyone else I have ever seen. His role as the spy in Tinker, Tailor was awesome.

Are you familiar with 'House of Cards' where Richardson gave us that now famous line?

It's amazing isn't it? Here we are in this so-called "liberal" environment, and yet there are those who believe that a person's sexuality should be placed on an altar so that other "like-minded" individuals can feel safe by criticising them - whether living or dead. All very sad!!

Just out of interest he wasn't gay - not that it makes any difference! I'm not one of those people who gets their knickers in twist when anyone mentions homosexuality!

Sad, isn't it. It's as if their sexuality affects their standing as an actor, or sports person, or whatever. It doesn't.

Richardson was excellent, equally at home with comedy and drama. Check out his work in Private Schultz and Porterhouse Blue, not to mention something like Murder Rooms. A brilliant actor.

We lost two of the greatest actors ever this week - Ian Richardson and of course, Anna Nicole-Smith.

A sad loss. He was on the London stage very recently too.
