Panic, panic, panic: peak oil/ oil wars.

If you were scared before... look who is talking about peak oil.
It's only in times of crisis that the crazies like the BNP !adolf! can get hold of power. Peak oil, if it causes the economic collapse it is predicted to, will be that time of crisis.
You read about what happenend in Germany in the 1930's. The Wall Street crash of 1929 led to economic collapse which led to mass unemployment, that unemployment led to discontent and desperation which ultimately led to Hitler !adolf! and the concentration camps.
Hitler didn't rise to power just because the people loved him. He rose to power partly because big business in Germany and abroad thought that he was a safe bet to protect their investments and businesses from the hordes of unemployed, especially those who had socialsit leanings. Hitler !adolf! and Nazi Germany !adolf! was as much a corporate state as it was a fascist !adolf! state.
If Britain is hit by a similar economic collapse to the Wall Street collapse of 1929 (and peak oil is predicted to cause a more catastrophic financial collapse) do you think the ruling classes of this country are going to allow their goods and property to be seized by a starving and desperate population? Of course they wont.
They will gang up as they always do when threatened and throw their collective weight (and money and the media outlets they own) behind anyone who will promise to protect their interests, usually some Hitler fixated nutcase !adolf! whose idea of protecting the rich is to kill the poor. The only uncertainty in the reaction of the ruling classes is to how they do it. Do they bother trying to do it democratically or do they just overthrow the Government? (!adolf! ?????)
We should all be a bit scared.
Then we should all fight back!
