Yep, the Hollywood treatment, apparently by the dude who wrote the screenplay to the Di Caprio flick "Catch me if you can" who stated "I am fascinated with frauds"

Here's a title that came to mind

"Girl you know is ISN't true"

Wouldn't that be Vanilla Ice.
Milli Vannili were from Germany I think, mimed to their backing singers vocals.

I couldnt imagine that having more than a 30 minute documentary...if that. I really didnt see the big deal about them being frauds. Most people in th eindustry process their voices through the computer these days. You know this if you see some of them live.

Yeah, go back to the 70s. A group called 5000 Volts appeared on Top Of The Pops with a gorgeous blonde singer to perform I'm On Fire----only the blonde was glamour model Luan Peters, and the real singer was short, plump brunette Tina Charles.

The Milli Vanilli thing was blown out of all proportions, but the fact that their single won a Grammy was what led to the anger and over-reaction by the industry.

Absolutely right. A lot of singers get caught out when they perform live.

Especially all these hip new supposedly "cutting edge" people like the Arctic Monkeys, Keane, Babyshambles and all that bollocks.

Talentless spotty-faced oiks who can't hold a tune, the lot of 'em.
