Hey all!!

Right bit of a minority post here im afraid, but I know one or two folks in here are keen guitaist's. So I have all ways all ways wanted an Epiphone 335. But to be honest I have not really played on one that much and know very little about them. Other than they look fackin' stunning (I know im that much of a wanker) But have saved up a few quid this past year and have seen some great deals on E bay. So does any one have any info on them, please? Also a bit weary as I have all ways had a strat. Wondered if the size difference will be odd?

Any ways all help, info, feedback ect very much appreciated

Thankyou

BB

I have numerous Gibsons and Fenders and have never had a problem going from a 24 3/4" scale length to a 25 1/2" or vice versa.

However, if your Strat is a genuine US Fender, then you may be a little disappointed with the tone of an Epiphone.

It depends. I've always liked the sound of 335s. Back in the day (the early 1970's it was one of the guitars of choice for playing rhythm. Listen to James Brown's guitatist Jimmy "Chank" Nolen. He played a simular type guitar in the early days. Tito Jackson of the Jackson Five back in the day played one as well. On the blues side of music B.B. King, Little Milton and white blues guitarist Albert Lee all played lead guitar with theirs. By the way their guitars were Gibson ES335's. I'm pretty sure you might know that Epiphones were the offshoot of Gibsons back in the days and now they're the more affordable versions of Gibsons. I'd like to get an SG myself.

I have 2 epiphones myself, found them to be an excellent brand from a reputable company like Gibson, unlike Fender's 'Squire' range which are shit.
For a comparison, look at Washburn's HB35 range, stunning guitar in either natural or red. I have a natural and was VERY impressed.

These days, Epiphone and Washburn, unless stated are Korean built.....better than the crappy Chinese bollocks flooding the market
