Hi guys

Im here to ask some advice on what video camera to get as this is something I dont really know too much about.

I need a new video camera for shooting content for my new site. The content will just be for web use rather than dvd.

So if someone could offer any advice or is selling off any second hand cams that you think would be good for me please let me know by replying on here or contacting me on laptop@sexy-harmony.com xx

Hi babes, the best cams are HDV they will show up any freckles and pimples you have and more, they are a bit pricy at the moment but there are plenty of cheap digis on ebay which if you only need clips will do the job and you just connect to a USB on your compt and away you go, best of luck.

For web work? Almost any decent dv cam will do but...

...if sound is important then I'd consider one with a 'mic-in' jack which will give you the option of an external microphone in case the on-board mic isn't up to the task, or the on-board mic is picking up motor noise from the camera.

So how about the Panasonic 500GS? It's got 3ccds and optical image stabilisation.

If most of your shooting is indoors, with the curtains closed and not much studio lighting then low light performance may be something to consider. The Sony HDR-HC3 is high definition and performs better in low light conditions. The downside being that you're stuck with Sony brand mics if you want an external mic, and I think the image stabilisation is done digitally which isn't as good as the Panasonic's optical stabilisation.

Hope this helps.
