Yeah great movie but I'm decided that Goodfellas is his unequalled masterpiece though.

Without a doubt, such a cool film, there must be something wrong with people who've never seen that movie, I've read both the books by the REAL Henry Hill as well, which differ from the events in the film, I forget what the most recent one was called (The first was Wiseguy) but it went into much detail about stuff they couldn't at the time as the one's he put away were still alive, both the Jimmy Conway & Paul Cicero charecters portrayed in the film have long since died in prison now.

you should watch the original trilogy its based on, hong kong cinema's "Infernal Affairs" - puts the departed to shame imo

I saw the first Infernal affairs, great movie, usually Hollywood fucks up any remakes, but it did prompt me to buy Infernal affairs straight after seeing the Departed. Di Caprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, every performance was top notch in the movie, I hear a sequel is in the works featuring Mark Wahlberg, not sure if this is a good or bad thing?
