i use this as my browser, but recently whenever i click on one of my desktop icons to enter a site, a message comes up saying it cannot find the site concerned.however seconds later the site comes up, so the error message is wrong but annoying. why is this message coming up and how do i stop it happening.

Maybe delete the icons and make new ones?

Are they old icons that worked ok with an older version of Firefox?

Why you having desktop icons linking to sites anyway? Bookmarks work mighty fine !happy! Plus all those extra icons slows down XP load times.
