It's a load of bollocks what Iran is doing. They saw an easy opportunity and took it. My guess is that Iran will let the Brits go with a warning to show how merciful and understanding they are to the world. Politically it would be the right thing to do to get others 'on-side', whether the Brits were indeed in Iranian waters or not.

As for Blair.........I'm backing him 100% on this issue !shocked! Anything else would be seen as a sign of weakness.

Mega LOL! How would you guys feel if the situation was in reverse! The Iranians like any other country would do the same. They say the prisoners are treated well. If they are not released then I agree Tony should take the issue further...I mean what are we paying our taxes for if the government doesnt protect us abroad eh?

Dont take their act of releasing the prisoners as a sign of weakness than simply the right thing to do.

Talk about baying for blood Sam! Would you prefer they escalate the matter to a critical point such as war? Its not like they have killed the prisoners for chrissakes. If they did I'd be all in favour of full steam ahead

Well it can be construed as peeking over your neighbours fence but surely that can be admonished with a slap on the wrist and a "I say do you mind? Thats my wife" but the iranian equivalent of course

Chill....... I wasn't baying for blood. I was saying that a tough stance -tough words and threats, not actions- is the right way forward. Pussyfooting around and saying 'we're weely weely sorry, but but can we have our fwiends back pwease, and we pwomise we will never ever ever do it again Mr Iran? Pwetty pwease?' would be taken as weakness in Iranian eyes.

We're not going to go to war over 15 soldiers whether they are killed or not, and Iran won't kill the soldiers anyway. They're just being used politically by Iran and will be released, thus showing mercy and Iran winning on points.....at least this battle anyway.

Just like when Saddam had that little British kid on his knee, patting his head in front of the cameras, and letting him go home to Mummy. Isn't Mr Saddam a good caring fellow? Oh forget about those thousands of gassed Kurds, and all that torturing of political opponents, just look how he's patting that little lads head, making him feel all secure and warm. Aaagggghhhhhh!

The soldiers are just politics OEJ, the Iranians don't care whether they were in Iranian waters or not. Guilt isn't on the agenda. Showing people how nice they can be, is.

From the BBC news website:
The 15 Royal Navy crew held captive by Iran are preparing to fly home after being freed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a "gift" to the UK.
Told ya. Pretty obvious really. A 'gift' to the UK. Isn't that nice? Iran win on points, like I said. Those soldiers were never in Iranian waters at all. Iran used them to make the UK look foolish to other Islamic nations, and then set them free giving the impression of kindness and mercy.

Still, glad they'll be coming home.
