This Is England is great! Bought back some good memories. Some not so good but character defining to say the least.

Oh yeah before those that dont know get any wrong ideas...I was never a skin head just because I liked the film.

Personally I thought the skin head ideal was just as negative as the black notion that you cant get a job or do anything for yourself because 'the man ' was holding you down. Puh-lease.

As for that 'pakis coming here taking our jobs', well the asian population have been doing the jobs that white folks were too lazy to do or thought it was beneath them. That movie encapsulated a lot of things I thought about growing up and thoroughly proved that hatred is an indivisble emotion that only leads to destruction and ultimately self destruction in the aggressor.

Ace if I had one gripe about the movie is its soundtrack.

How come there was no Madness, The Beat or The Selector featured on that sound track? These were the bands that coloured that era of the early 80's.

Toots and The Maytals must have been from the 60's for sure unless things were different up north.

Maybe the music they would have liked to use was too expensive to licence ? On a point of order Uttoxeter which is where Meadows grew up and I think the film is set is kinda Midlands so although it's north of London it shouldn't be confused with 'the North'.
