Ah, the perils of surfing. Somehow I've got a dialler lodged in my system which I can't get rid of. Every time I try and remove it from the programs menu, it opens up a body jewellery site which is in German. Does anybody have any top tips to get rid of this sod? I'm running Windows XP. All advice from the techno-heads on the forum gratefully received.

The dialer has placed a program somewhere on your computer by thhe sounds of it.Had a similar experience until i downloaded and used the program below.
Try downloading a program called Ad-Aware from or , it basically tracks down known ad programs for you and asks you wether you wish to delete-might help.
cheers

You could try going to:
RUN and type REGEDIT
Then go to:
LOCAL MACHINE
then
SOFTWARE
find the program folder and delete it.
that should do it.

warning!!
be extremely careful before you start mucking about in your registry, or you could seriously screw up your operating system.

If have a "My Network Places" icon on your desktop and right click on it and go to properties, you can change your connection properties. You should be able to remove the connection from there.

As suggested by Buttsie, Lavasoft Ad-Aware should remove this. Great program, and its free. Make sure you have the latest update as they added a few more of the horrible spywares. BUT if you use Kazaa or Morpheus, etc., do not remove any of the Cydoor entries it suggests or you won't be able to use the filesharing software.

Thanks all for the advice. Very much appreciated. Will proceed cautiously, but think Buttsie's sounds the least dangerous route.
