Russell Brand thread.

post your heartfelt opinions on popular 'comedian' Russell Brand here.
It would be nice to see what this varied, experienced and eclectic community thinks....... a valid cross-section of opinion can then be garnered.
It would then be tempting to send the results to channel 4.
My take:
Russell Brand is a Brand of comedian perpetuated by a misguided youth who simply do not know what is funny. Not knowing what is funny, he is accepted by a market (generally 18-24) that don't know any better, and are ignorant to the genius of Hicks, Connolly, Merton, The Pythons et al.
An eccentric fast-talking attention seeker at best, the man lacks genuine talent and all 'spontaneity' is highly contrived. Undermined hugely as a comic force (farce?) by presenting utter mind-rot as Big Brother's Little Brother (the idiot son of the idiot son), he demeans the notion of stand-up comedy in general.
The man is a dick.
I maintain that the fella is not fit for TV purposes, and the sight and sound of him is repellant, with myself highly annoyed in the secure knowledge that there are comedians on the stand-up circuit infinitely more talented.
This author is 'on one'. Someone mentioned Brand in a previous thread.
Your opinions are appreciated!
