MAME help.

MAME = Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator.

Love it.

I've installed it to the laptop with (groan) Windows Vista (Bill Gates, !adolf!).

With XP, I could configure everything...... control pads etc. Now, I'm stuck with keys.....not happy. !tears! Under Vista (!adolf!), I can't access 'default options' or access 'properties' on individual roms.

Does anyone have a copy of MAME, a recent version, with ALL, or a lot of, the roms??? If it's vista-friendly, bonus!!!!

I will buy it from you and pay postage and packing.

I need my weekly hit of Robotron and Bubble Bobble. !wink!

WHY IS VISTA (!adolf!) SO HOSTILE TO SOFTWARE THAT IS NOT ENDORSED BY MICROSOFT (!bobby!) OR NORTON (!nerd!) I WONDER?

Hi SP, do you have a link to the version you are using?

Thanks for the rom link!

Yeah, no problems...

Goto:

And scroll halfway down the page till you see:

" MAME32 0.115 MAME version with intergrated frontend "

Thats the one that Im using on Vista Home Priemium, and its 100%

However, as I said, I dont currently have a joystick, but in whatever game your playing, just press 'tab' and brings up a menu where you can change the game control options... Its all very straight forward...

Happy mameing/gaming :)

Cool... Glad that your going good...
Infact, your post has just inspired me to go and order a joypad, for my mameing sessions...
Your correct... Using the keys is a truley sad way to go !
I considered an X-Arcade 2 X player... But decided that it was over the top... So I have just gone for a cheap and cheerfull wirless pad from PCworld online store !

Laterzzz
