Whether this is dressed up as religion/laws it does not have any place in the modern world surely as it is a purely barbaric act - I mean who could take part in this sort of thing ... and they wonder why we are at war with these sort of religious fanatics, I would skin the fuckers alive ... cunts.

This sort of behavior is not acceptable in the 21st century and the animals that done this the young girl should suffer the same ... however i would stone till an inch off there life then give them medical help and when recovered do it all over again and keep doing it till there bodies can't take anymore.... it's what animals like that deserve.

The key word is 'medieval' .. that's not to make a generalisation and propose that the country and culture is backward but with regard to what seems to be ab 'honour' killing in this case it would seem to be.

Don't forget though, we get 'honour' killings in the UK in terms of 'disrespect', and only fairly recently someone was killed over what was reported to be an argument over a parking space ! What is disturbing in the case that you bring to our attention is that it was sanctioned by onlookers and in this way 'legitimated' and upheld as a reasonable way to behave. It's not reasonable, it's barbaric .. in this case it reinforces a group identity at the cost of a life.

It's easy to see it as symptomatic of a backward culture but it's not like we're immune from these kinds of incidents in the UK. Okay, they don't happen in quite the same way, it's rarely a mob meting out it's own skewed idea of justice. In the modern world it's the individual who believes he has the right to do as he pleases and who is the agent of sometimes equally barbaric and destructive acts, often with the same end results.

I can't believe this sort of shit goes on in the world.

I've been watching an American TV mini-series based in Iraq called "Over There" (a bit like Ultimate Force, but based in Iraq), and I always remember what one of the troops says at one point. He says that Iraqi people are still living in the medieval period. This proves what he said.

Sorry, but I've said it before and I'll say it again, these people aren't worth even one of our troops' lives.....
