Hey

Here is the story....are you sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin....

Last Monday night I set up an account with Viking Direct and made my first order. They told me that all orders are usually next day,but first orders can take a little longer.

So the money left my account on Tuesday morning, but come Friday the order still had not arrived. Which was a huge pain in the 'arris coz im off this week. So Friday night I E-mailed them explaing the situation. First thing Saturday morning I recieved a really polite and apologetic E-mail,saying that the courier had returned the item with no explanation on Wednesday. So my card would be credited with the ammount spent, and that they were very sorry etc etc....

So im just wondering really was I just un lucky? The handled my complaint quickly and without fuss. So does any one else use them? Should I bother ordering again and give them the benifit of the doubt?

So to have gone on a bit

always been good and quick with me.

Once sent me 500 envelopes of the wrong kind. "Don't bother returning them, just keep 'em" they said.

Unless they've gone downhill recently, give 'em another try.

The problem could be with the couriers. I've had many problems with couriers who blatently lie about anything to get out of their next day guarentee. Apparently, "its not the usual driver" allows them not to deliver within the terms of the agreement!

Is that Dude with the dodgy syrup still on the catalogue everywhere? I love it when the owner of the company insists on being in all the advertising and looks like a tw*t.

I haven't used them for several years but they used to be very reliable.

Know a few people who've used them with no issues.

Probably just unlucky mate.

"I once ordered a 6 inch ruler off them for about 18p, because they were giving a free coffee maker with all orders - they both arrived, but the coffee maker was so cheap and nasty I binned it. Never ordered again, but I still have the ruler somewhere, although I've never used it."

Do we have any other Yorkshire contributors?
